Colorectal cancer is one of the most commonly diagnosed cancers in Canada and a leading cause of cancer death, yet it is also one of the most preventable. It typically develops slowly from precancerous polyps, and a screening colonoscopy can detect and remove those polyps in a single procedure, often before cancer ever develops.
Patients with a positive stool screening test (FIT) are advised to have a follow-up colonoscopy, while patients with ongoing symptoms, such as reflux, abdominal pain, bleeding, changes in bowel habits, difficulty swallowing, or unexplained anemia, may also require further investigation.

Private FIT-Positive Follow-Up Colonoscopy
